Eloy Johans received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Francisco Aureo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Martin Che kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. In the 18th minute, Eloy Johans got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nicanor Bento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Tobias Kimetz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 26th minute, Jeremias Baristo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tobias Kimetz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agustin Cefero in the 30th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Martin Che managed to get in a good position for a shot. Racing Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Martin Che was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tobias Kimetz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eloy Johans got free with Francisco Aureo in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bernabe Playo during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 46th minute, Bernabe Playo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nicanor Bento to make the kick off.
