Spectators: 7361 (Terracing: 5521, Seating: 1693, VIP seats: 147) Froilan Pereyra let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 4th minute shot 1-0 at rihgt post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Isaias Quintan got free with Basilio Bilbo in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Benito Lauaxeta charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Benito Lauaxeta the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Isaias Quintan might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Basilio Bilbo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Isaias Quintan ran back to his position shaking his head. Pichincha were furious when Emiliano Frichoso was red carded, 21 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Marciano Cordeal shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Isaias Quintan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Basilio Bilbo having to interfere. Froilan Pereyra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 27 minutes, Isaias Quintan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pichincha's supporters crossed their fingers, but Isaias Quintan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Froilan Pereyra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Isaias Quintan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 32 minutes into the game, Pichincha's Froilan Pereyra nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Basilio Bilbo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. When Pichincha's Froilan Pereyra in the 38th minute got a chance for a shot 38th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Buchanan AFC's goalie prevented a goal. Pichincha's Isidoro Quintana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Santiago Birila in the 41st minute of play. After some careless play in the Pichincha defense, Ubaldo Ruisko kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Isidoro Quintana. The Pichincha fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Isidoro Quintana should have stopped the shot. Isaias Quintan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Basilio Bilbo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Froilan Pereyra made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, Buchanan AFC's Ubaldo Ruisko ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Isidoro Quintana. Isidoro Quintana yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. Isidoro Quintana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ubaldo Ruisko, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. After 67 played minutes Buchanan AFC got a freekick which was hit by Rigoberto Intxixu. After 69 played minutes Buchanan AFC got a freekick which was hit by Ildefonso Gamus. 3-2 became the score in the 71st minute when Isaias Quintan elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Basilio Bilbo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isaias Quintan in the 75th minute of play. In the 77th minute Froilan Pereyra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Basilio Bilbo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. During the 78th minute of the match Benito Lauaxeta completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Benito Lauaxeta a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 78th minute, Benito Lauaxeta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Buchanan AFC's goalkeeper Basilio Bilbo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Basilio Bilbo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isaias Quintan in the 82nd minute of play. Froilan Pereyra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Basilio Bilbo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Feliberto Ekaitz fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pichincha's protests and gave Feliberto Ekaitz a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Pichincha getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Feliberto Ekaitz hit a great ball. In the 89th minute, Paolo Lando hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Froilan Pereyra struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Basilio Bilbo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pichincha. When the referee ended the match the Pichincha players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
