The audience thought a goal was coming when Eliseo Rozarius got free with Isidoro Quintana in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fausto Arias during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 18 played minutes Pichincha got a freekick which was hit by Fausto Arias. Teofilo Claude took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 19th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Isidoro Quintana. Pichincha's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Laureano Argider was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 21 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 20th minute of the game. One of Pichincha:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Lepá FC:s goal. After having played for 26 minutes, Isaias Quintan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pichincha's supporters crossed their fingers, but Isaias Quintan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Isaias Quintan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquin Goren having to interfere. After having played for 37 minutes, Isaias Quintan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pichincha's supporters crossed their fingers, but Isaias Quintan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Lepá FC booed when Pichincha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tobias Bertran didn't get a good kick on the ball. 45 minutes into the game, Eliseo Rozarius cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Isidoro Quintana was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Froilan Pereyra made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Lepá FC booed when Pichincha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paolo Lando didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Froilan Pereyra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Isaias Quintan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Joaquin Goren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 59 minutes into the match, Isaias Quintan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joaquin Goren. Lepá FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Isaias Quintan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. Isaias Quintan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Constantino Roano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Pichincha's Isidoro Quintana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseo Rozarius in the 71st minute of play. Placido Nicholas's late challenge caught a Pichincha's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Placido Nicholas helped the player get up and apologised. Placido Nicholas kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliseo Rozarius in the 74th minute of play forced Pichincha's goalkeeper Isidoro Quintana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Isidoro Quintana didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eliseo Rozarius went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-2 was the resulting score. In the 82nd minute Constantino Roano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isidoro Quintana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joaquin Goren didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Froilan Pereyra went, in the 83rd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-3 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isaias Paulin in the 90th minute of play forced Pichincha's goalkeeper Isidoro Quintana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Isaias Quintan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Joaquin Goren made a huge save. Pichincha's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
