In the 18th minute, Ricardo Lain got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Leonardo Christobal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ismael Enaut fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iker Luke having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Leonardo Christobal got free with Iker Luke in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 32nd minute of the match Daniel Cordearo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cristobal Duarte skillfully saved the ball. Ricardo Lain blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Iker Luke having to make a save. Simblanca FC's Iker Luke played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ismael Enaut in the 37th minute of play. After having played for 40 minutes, Leonardo Christobal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ElpataFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leonardo Christobal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to ElpataFC getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Marciano Gartzea hit a great ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ulises Thomas to make the kick off.
