The supporters of ElpataFC booed when Buchanan FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonardo Frantzes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ricardo Lain fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Artemio Montez having to interfere. Saul Licerio's late challenge caught a ElpataFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Saul Licerio helped the player get up and apologised. After 15 played minutes Buchanan FC got a freekick which was hit by Saul Licerio. After 19 minutes, Cristobal Dunixi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ElpataFC and the Buchanan FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 19th match minute, ElpataFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristobal Dunixi to maneuver through the defense. ElpataFC's Ismael Enaut got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 66th minute Emanuel Darien shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Artemio Montez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Ismael Enaut had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ricardo Lain sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Artemio Montez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ismael Enaut in the 79th minute of the match. Leonardo Christobal struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Artemio Montez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ElpataFC. ElpataFC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
