Pichincha's supporters crossed their fingers, but Froilan Pereyra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 22ndth minute of the game Froilan Pereyra who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rustico F.C's Arsenio Goren was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Froilan Pereyra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Arsenio Goren came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Pichincha's Froilan Pereyra. But to his dismay, Froilan Pereyra quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. 29 minutes into the match, Pichincha's goal looked a bit too open when Guaberto Jaume came free, but Isidoro Quintana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Isaias Quintan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Arsenio Goren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Isaias Quintan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

After having played for 86 minutes, Isaias Quintan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
