After some careless play in the Sijes AFC defense, Edelmiro Hibai kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sergio Ponc. The Sijes AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sergio Ponc should have stopped the shot. If Aurelio Hodei had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sergio Ponc acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 68th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Elvio Duardo. In the 69th minute Basilio Lastur shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Federico Illart saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The ElFortin FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing ElFortin FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
