No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Leo Bernal came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by River Plate's Generoso Merexildo. But to his dismay, Generoso Merexildo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. When Luciano Mel fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored River Plate's protests and gave Luciano Mel a yellow card for diving instead. Aquiles Rayman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Moises Perrando having to interfere. Aquiles Rayman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Moises Perrando showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guaberto Soter, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. A hard shot 95 in the game by Aquiles Rayman from a close distance when the talented Moises Perrando managed to make a qualified save. River Plate's players were relieved. In the 96th minute, Anselmo Cordairo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. River Plate were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
