The audience thought a goal was coming when Abelardo Lastur got free with Fabricio Corderro in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nestor Manni could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Eleuterio Anaya made a huge save. If Fernando Dino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abelardo Lastur scored 1-3 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fabricio Corderro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Ballesteros walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
