The audience was convinced that Benigno Gabino's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jaime Txindoki was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. Jaime Txindoki didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gogo Romero went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. If Benigno Gabino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lino Bitxintxo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniel Cebo having to interfere. Gogo Romero struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Jaime Txindoki didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sunderland A.F.C.. Daniel Cebo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fidel Cucao, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Benigno Gabino stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Sunderland A.F.C. booed when Rincón was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fidel Cucao didn't get a good kick on the ball.
