Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Luisito Unai got the match started through his kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Cavalango's zone, Serafino Lidon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Inocencio Danel came out of the goal and Serafino Lidon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Club Nacional De Futbol booed when Cavalango was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luisito Tristan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julian Lander struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Inocencio Danel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Nacional De Futbol. Inocencio Danel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Serafino Lidon, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. If Jesus Luar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 10 minutes into the match, Club Nacional De Futbol's goal looked a bit too open when Luisito Unai came free, but Damaso Benitez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 11th match minute, Club Nacional De Futbol was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Primitivo Iraido to maneuver through the defense. Damaso Benitez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luisito Unai in the 13th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Club Nacional De Futbol's Severino Pinto got a free kick in the 14th minute. Jesus Luar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Damaso Benitez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cavalango's Luisito Unai got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Primitivo Iraido got his second yellow card in the match during the 33rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 33rd match minute, Club Nacional De Futbol was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Primitivo Iraido to maneuver through the defense. 36 minutes into the match, Club Nacional De Futbol's goal looked a bit too open when Luisito Unai came free, but Damaso Benitez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jesus Luars short, quick shot in the 42ndth minute got Damaso Benitez to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Julian Lander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Julian Lander made a kick off. If Jesus Luar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 54th minute of the match Alfonso Herena shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Damaso Benitez showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 56 minutes into the match, Cavalango's goalkeeper Inocencio Danel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Julian Lander. When Jesus Luar came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Cavalango fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jesus Luar couldn't finish the play. When Serafino Lidon fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Nacional De Futbol's protests and gave Serafino Lidon a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Club Nacional De Futbol's Serafino Lidon got a free kick in the 65th minute. Damaso Benitez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jesus Luar in the 69th minute of play. 70 minutes into the game, Luisito Unai cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Damaso Benitez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Club Nacional De Futbol's Damaso Benitez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jesus Luar in the 73rd minute of play. A collision led to Club Nacional De Futbol getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Serafino Lidon hit a great ball. In the 76th minute, Luisito Unai left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cavalango fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Luisito Tristan might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Damaso Benitez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. The Cavalango fans cheered their team off the field, for while Club Nacional De Futbol had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
