Rogelio Rencio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Niceto Guillen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julian Lander recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Serafino Lidon in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rogelio Rencio saved Pujol from getting behind. Julian Lander took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rogelio Rencio. Rogelio Rencio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Serafino Lidon might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rogelio Rencio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Serafino Lidon ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Pujol's zone, Serafino Lidon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rogelio Rencio came out of the goal and Serafino Lidon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Serafino Lidon made a kick off. After 51 minutes of play, Club Nacional De Futbol's Serafino Lidon made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rogelio Rencio was left in no man's land by his defense there! Julian Lander's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rogelio Rencio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. Julian Lander sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Damaso Benitez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. In the 86th minute Ignacio Quirce shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Damaso Benitez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Serafino Lidon scored 4-1 in the 90th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rogelio Rencio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Julian Lander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Club Nacional De Futbol's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
