Guaberto Sotero might have been able to make a better finish in the 3rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pascual Etor. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elpidio Mendez in the 7th minute of play forced Congreso's goalkeeper Pascual Etor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Anastasio Avellaneda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Rigoberto Weather tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Congreso booed when Mono Insano FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teodoro Charro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Anselmo Favila could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Rigoberto Weather made a huge save. 37 minutes into the match, Mono Insano FC's goal looked a bit too open when Anastasio Avellaneda came free, but Rigoberto Weather reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Guaberto Sotero was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute, Eleuterio Gelmiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Mono Insano FC getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Aureliano Tome hit a great ball. In the 58th minute Anselmo Favila shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rigoberto Weather saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anselmo Favila in the 63rd minute of play forced Mono Insano FC's goalkeeper Rigoberto Weather to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With his leg Pascual Etor managed to avoid a goal in the 64thth minute, when Mono Insano FC's Elpidio Mendez fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Anselmo Favila sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rigoberto Weather showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anastasio Avellaneda in the 68th minute of the match. Cayetano Mannuel hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. A collision led to Mono Insano FC getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Elpidio Mendez hit a great ball. 75 minutes into the match, Anastasio Avellaneda had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rigoberto Weather. Mono Insano FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Anastasio Avellaneda was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Anastasio Avellaneda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rigoberto Weather took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anselmo Favila, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 83rd minute, Anselmo Favila ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rigoberto Weather was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Congreso's Anselmo Favila got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Mono Insano FC defense, Horacio Jerrald kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rigoberto Weather. The Mono Insano FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rigoberto Weather should have stopped the shot. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Congreso fans cheered their team off the field, for while Mono Insano FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
