In the 9th match minute, Deportivo Atómico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Niceto Orlin to maneuver through the defense. Guaberto Tirso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anibal Lauren in the 10th minute of play. Deportivo Atómico's Guaberto Tirso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anibal Lauren in the 13th minute of play. Guaberto Tirso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anibal Lauren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 20 minutes into the match, Deportivo Atómico's goal looked a bit too open when Anibal Lauren came free, but Guaberto Tirso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Central Academia's Anibal Lauren got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 30 minutes into the game, Alejandro Piearres was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hilario Iigo to make the kick off. Through an outstanding action, after 51 minutes, Guaberto Tirso successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Thanks to some nice moves Anibal Lauren could shoot a difficult shot in the 60th minute, which Guaberto Tirso however easily saved by the left post. Central Academia's Urbano Haitz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Desiderio Bernaldo in the 69th minute of play. Ubaldo Lucero charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ubaldo Lucero the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Atómico's Ubaldo Lucero got a free kick in the 72nd minute. After having played for 76 minutes, Hilario Iigo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Central Academia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hilario Iigo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Deportivo Atómico's Guaberto Tirso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Deportivo Atómico from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hilario Iigo in the 94th minute of play forced Deportivo Atómico's goalkeeper Guaberto Tirso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Urbano Haitz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Desiderio Bernaldo in the 96th minute of the match. Central Academia's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
