The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 6 minutes, Emiliano Erramun put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Ivan Paul. The supporters of banfield AFC booed when Chovet was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugo Ursino didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Rosendo Jesco came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Chovet fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rosendo Jesco couldn't finish the play. 19 minutes into the match, banfield AFC's goalkeeper Eusebio Jakobe had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Guaberto Eusko. When Julian Telo came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Chovet fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Julian Telo couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Emiliano Erramun in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ivan Paul prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Emiliano Erramun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 33 minutes, Emiliano Erramun managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. banfield AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emiliano Erramun was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 34th minute Maximino Herena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivan Paul saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 35 minutes into the match, Chovet's goal looked a bit too open when Emiliano Erramun came free, but Ivan Paul reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julian Telo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eusebio Jakobe having to interfere. It was a well-played corner which Damaso Fernado managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Guaberto Eusko received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Eusebio Jakobe came out and tried to block the shot, but Guaberto Eusko slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 46th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Emiliano Erramun stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the game, Emiliano Erramun recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ivan Paul. Emiliano Erramun showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Orlando Dubardo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Ivan Paul tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ivan Paul made an important save on a dangerous shot by Maximino Herena in the 67th minute. Maximino Herena could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Ivan Paul made a huge save. Guaberto Eusko received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Eusebio Jakobe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Julian Telo struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Eusebio Jakobe didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chovet. Guaberto Eusko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Guaberto Eusko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eusebio Jakobe having to interfere. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. banfield AFC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
