Fermin Cresencio who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 16thth minute tested the skills of Edgard Txaran when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Ernesto Abadie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquin Eguzki having to interfere. In the 19th minute Bartolo Iigo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquin Eguzki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Godofredo Tello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benedicto Ignatius sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Racing's zone, Ernesto Abadie stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joaquin Eguzki came out of the goal and Ernesto Abadie tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ernesto Abadie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. After some careless play in the Racing defense, Bartolo Iigo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joaquin Eguzki. The Racing fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joaquin Eguzki should have stopped the shot. In the 41st minute, Racing's Fermin Cresencio dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Benedicto Ignatius made the kick off in the second half. Bartolo Iigo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquin Eguzki having to interfere. Bartolo Iigo struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Joaquin Eguzki didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Instituto F.C.. After a rather tough play, Racing's Lucio Montay got a free kick in the 64th minute. 66 minutes into the game, Hermengildo Maraman was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Racing's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Instituto F.C. the free kick. The supporters of Instituto F.C. booed when Racing was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hermengildo Maraman didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Bartolo Iigo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 79 played minutes Racing got a freekick which was hit by Eugenio Pueblo. If Ernesto Abadie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Instituto F.C.'s goalkeeper Edgard Txaran, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 89 minutes into the match, Instituto F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Benedicto Ignatius came free, but Edgard Txaran reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Instituto F.C.'s Edgard Txaran played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fermin Cresencio in the 90th minute of play. After having played for 95 minutes, Benedicto Ignatius managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Racing's supporters crossed their fingers, but Benedicto Ignatius was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Instituto F.C. players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
