Guaberto Eusko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgard Txaran having to interfere. Julian Telo scored 1-1 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Edgard Txaran, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ernesto Abadie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivan Paul having to interfere. When Silvio Olo fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Instituto F.C.'s protests and gave Silvio Olo a yellow card for diving instead. 32 minutes into the match, Ernesto Abadie dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ivan Paul, 2-1. In the 36th minute, Pedro Etxatxu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 38th minute of the match Fermin Musko sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Edgard Txaran skillfully saved the ball. If Ernesto Abadie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bartolo Iigo was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Chovet getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Ildefonso Matteo hit a great ball. Guaberto Eusko might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edgard Txaran. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Guaberto Eusko ran back to his position shaking his head. Edgard Txaran showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Telo, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. If Guaberto Eusko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ernesto Abadie struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Ivan Paul didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Instituto F.C.. Instituto F.C.'s Edgard Txaran played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Telo in the 78th minute of play. In the 79th match minute, Instituto F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfonso Osasun to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Instituto F.C.'s Edgard Txaran got control of the ball when Guaberto Eusko tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match clock showed 87 minutes, the score became 3-1 when Ernesto Abadie sped through Chovet's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ivan Paul. Edgard Txaran made an important save on a dangerous shot by Guaberto Eusko in the 92nd minute. A collision led to Chovet getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Reynaldo Polo hit a great ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Instituto F.C. fans cheered their team off the field, for while Chovet had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
