Glorioso Newell´s's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Melchor Tartalo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Glorioso Newell´s's Osvaldo Ekain got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Glorioso Newell´s's Osvaldo Ekain got a free kick in the 31st minute. Jairo Jerico showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Severiano Sesuldo in the 65th minute of the match. Osvaldo Ekain fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jairo Jerico having to interfere. After having played for 93 minutes, Severiano Sesuldo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Glorioso Newell´s's supporters crossed their fingers, but Severiano Sesuldo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
