Spectators: 7215 (Terracing: 5412, Seating: 1660, VIP seats: 143) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Haroldo Gaztea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonardo Curcio having to interfere. 14 minutes into the game, Santo Cordarius cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Saul Azevedo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Altona's Rene Larpe got a free kick in the 19th minute. Santo Cordarius scored 0-2 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Saul Azevedo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Saul Azevedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Santo Cordarius, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. When Haroldo Gaztea came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the St. Jimmy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Haroldo Gaztea couldn't finish the play. In the 37th minute, Haroldo Gaztea made a precise shot to the right of Leonardo Curcio. Altona's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. In the 42nd minute, one of Altona:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Altona. Benjamin Berbiz shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Santo Cordarius to make the kick off. After having played for 53 minutes, Haroldo Gaztea managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. St. Jimmy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Haroldo Gaztea was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When St. Jimmy's Severo Fero in the 57th minute got a chance for a shot 57th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Altona's goalie prevented a goal. Saul Azevedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Santo Cordarius in the 60th minute of the match. St. Jimmy's Saul Azevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Santo Cordarius in the 61st minute of play. In the 62nd minute, Gaston Marquez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Severo Fero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 68th minute, Severo Fero got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Leonardo Curcio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Severo Fero in the 70th minute of the match. Haroldo Gaztea recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 73rd minute, Ulises Bernard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, St. Jimmy's Saul Azevedo got control of the ball when Prudencio Mogel tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 76 played minutes St. Jimmy got a freekick which was hit by Erasmo Admon. Severo Fero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Altona's zone, Haroldo Gaztea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leonardo Curcio came out of the goal and Haroldo Gaztea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Delmar Pueblo kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. St. Jimmy's Severo Fero got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Leonardo Curcio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Haroldo Gaztea in the 94th minute of play. Leonardo Curcio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Severo Fero, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. The St. Jimmy manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Altona to win.
