Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Genaro Ticho took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 7th match minute, Alvear FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Delmiro Amaya to maneuver through the defense. Hernan Checa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Charles Dante having to make a save. After 13 played minutes Alvear FC got a freekick which was hit by Ramiro Funes Mori. 17 minutes into the game, Genaro Ticho recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Charles Dante. Genaro Ticho showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Hernan Checa struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Charles Dante didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Providencia AFC. When Pompiliu Iacob fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Alvear FC's protests and gave Pompiliu Iacob a yellow card for diving instead. After 24 played minutes Alvear FC got a freekick which was hit by Pompiliu Iacob. In the 28th minute, Benito Oriol got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Hernan Checa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Charles Dante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Genaro Ticho in the 40th minute of the match. In the 40th minute, Genaro Ticho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Providencia AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. A collision led to Alvear FC getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Ramiro Funes Mori hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Providencia AFC's Edgardo Iratxo got a free kick in the 47th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Norberto Firman in the 48th minute of play forced Providencia AFC's goalkeeper Baltasar Iraitz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Norberto Firman stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Hernan Checa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Charles Dante having to interfere. In the 56th minute of the game, Bernabe Jerrald landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. During the 56th minute of the match Pompiliu Iacob completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Pompiliu Iacob a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Providencia AFC booed when Alvear FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Norberto Firman didn't get a good kick on the ball. 61 minutes into the match, Edgardo Iratxo notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Alvear FC's Charles Dante. Charles Dante was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Alvear FC getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Norberto Firman hit a great ball. If Edgardo Iratxo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some careless play in the Alvear FC defense, Hernan Checa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Charles Dante. The Alvear FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Charles Dante should have stopped the shot. Cosme Hever kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Baltasar Iraitz acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 96th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Florentino Barros.
