When Cesar Rito came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Churcal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cesar Rito couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patricio Evangelista in the 6th minute of play forced Club Atlético Guantánamo's goalkeeper Higinio Isadore to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 9th match minute, Churcal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luisito Eriz to maneuver through the defense. Club Atlético Guantánamo's Alfonso Abilio couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 10th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Churcal. After 11 minutes of play, Club Atlético Guantánamo's Adrian Bernaldo made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luciano Ferrando was left in no man's land by his defense there! Higinio Isadore showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patricio Evangelista in the 16th minute of the match. In the 34th minute, Club Atlético Guantánamo's Pascual Ipar ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Luciano Ferrando. Luciano Ferrando yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. If Patricio Evangelista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Higinio Isadore made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patricio Evangelista in the 40th minute of play. Enrique Montxo hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. After 44 minutes Club Atlético Guantánamo's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Niceto Lamberto who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Niceto Lamberto almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Club Atlético Guantánamo's Higinio Isadore did a great save. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Patricio Evangelista made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Club Atlético Guantánamo's zone, Cesar Rito stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Higinio Isadore came out of the goal and Cesar Rito tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pascual Ipar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Luciano Ferrando tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 57 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Guantánamo's goalkeeper Higinio Isadore had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cesar Rito. After 59 minutes Club Atlético Guantánamo's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Niceto Lamberto who took care of the corner kick. After 62 minutes, Marcelino Aztore mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Atlético Guantánamo and the Churcal players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 63rd minute Patricio Evangelista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Higinio Isadore saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind Churcal's goalkeeper Luciano Ferrando, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Churcal getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Alejo Ospetsu hit a great ball. Adrian Bernaldo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Patricio Evangelista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Churcal's Omar Bazkoare got a free kick in the 84th minute. Alfonso Abilio, 85 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Pascual Ipar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Luciano Ferrando tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Patricio Evangelista recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Churcal's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
