Luján's defense didn't have a chance, in the 4th minute, when Domingo Elivareo scored to the left of an out of position Pablo Juvenal, making the score, 1-0. When Anibal Irrintzi came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Renca AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anibal Irrintzi couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Domingo Elivareo in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pablo Juvenal saved Luján from getting behind. After 9 minutes, Domingo Elivareo made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Luján's Pablo Juvenal tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 13th minute Domingo Elivareo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pablo Juvenal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Domingo Elivareo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Anibal Irrintzi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Pablo Juvenal made a huge save. Domingo Elivareo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pablo Juvenal having to interfere. Anibal Irrintzi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Juan Remigio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sixto Mattin, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. In the 33rd minute Sixto Mattin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juan Remigio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Juan Remigio came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by Luján's Cayetano Paulin. But to his dismay, Cayetano Paulin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Luján's Pablo Juvenal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Luján from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Luján's Cayetano Ruy got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Pablo Juvenal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Domingo Elivareo, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Luján's Pablo Juvenal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Domingo Elivareo in the 47th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Anibal Irrintzi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pablo Juvenal having to interfere. 60 minutes into the match, Cayetano Ruy had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Juan Remigio. Renca AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cayetano Ruy was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. After 71 played minutes Renca AFC got a freekick which was hit by Gonzalo Ostots. Domingo Galtero lost his temper 72 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee gave Luján a penalty, 75 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Anselmo Chico, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Renca AFC's Juan Remigio. 2-3. Cayetano Ruy hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Godofredo Pasqual kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. In the 98th minute, Luján's Cayetano Paulin fired away a free kick that almost went in the goal. Juan Remigio was prepared for the shot, but didn't have to make a play as the shot flew over the goal. The Luján supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Luján would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
