The referee ignored Alsa AFC's protests and gave Bernabe Peli a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Faro FC booed when Alsa AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernabe Peli didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alsa AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Benicio Iratzeder was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Silvestre Belasko breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Benicio Iratzeder had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Alsa AFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Alsa AFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
