Lanús FC's Emilio Benvide played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Severino Cefero in the 15th minute of play. Emilio Benvide showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mariano Anaya, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Lanús FC were furious when Emanuel Paio was red carded, 26 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After a defensive mix-up in pity79's zone, Isaac Jerico stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Baldomero Jerico came out of the goal and Isaac Jerico tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fidel Avellaneda in the 42nd minute of play forced Lanús FC's goalkeeper Emilio Benvide to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Baldomero Jerico showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isaac Jerico, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Severino Cefero charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Severino Cefero the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, pity79's Severino Cefero got a free kick in the 45th minute.

Isaac Jerico sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 55 minutes, Mariano Anaya took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Emilio Benvide to make any attempt to save it. After some careless play in the Lanús FC defense, Fidel Avellaneda kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Emilio Benvide. The Lanús FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Emilio Benvide should have stopped the shot. Fidel Avellaneda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Emilio Benvide tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Emilio Benvide didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fidel Avellaneda went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score. In the 72nd minute Celso Padro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emilio Benvide saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emilio Benvide made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severino Cefero in the 75th minute of play. Lanús FC's Isaac Jerico got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Baldomero Jerico was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Fidel Avellaneda received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Emilio Benvide came out and tried to block the shot, but Fidel Avellaneda slotted it home off the left post making it 2-5 in the 92nd minute. The Lanús FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching pity79's performance. The match ended with a win for pity79.
