In the 21st minute of the match, Gustavo Oto tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Damian Araoz saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. A collision led to River Plate getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Edgard Karmel hit a great ball. Clemente Fanuco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Angelo Salvidor in the 39th minute of play forced Deportivo Alberdi's goalkeeper Aquiles Maureo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 42nd minute, Mauricio Mercurio made a precise shot to the right of Aquiles Maureo. Deportivo Alberdi's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. A beautiful save bye Deportivo Alberdi's goalie prevented a goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. River Plate walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
