An unexpectedly hard shot by Damaso Christobal in the 6th minute of play forced River Plate's goalkeeper Damian Araoz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 9 minutes into the game, River Plate's Angelo Salvidor nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Damian Oinatz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. After a rather tough play, River Plate's Edgard Karmel got a free kick in the 12th minute. The supporters of Higuera FC booed when River Plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edgard Karmel didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 16th minute, Ricardo Farias got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Angelo Salvidor managed to get in a good position for a shot. River Plate's supporters rose to their feet, but Angelo Salvidor was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Higuera FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ricardo Farias was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 96th minute, Julian Olentzaro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Damian Oinatz was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 100th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Mauricio Mercurio. In the 100th match minute, Higuera FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Damaso Christobal to maneuver through the defense. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
