In the 6th minute of the match, Eliseo Sustrai tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Melquiades Rios saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Melquiades Rios made a fantastic save in the 8th minute, when Ildefonso Luix sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Orosmayo getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Aquilino Erramun hit a great ball. Orosmayo's Everardo Aznaro got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Legionarios Fc booed when Orosmayo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victorio Chuse didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ildefonso Luix blasted a shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Melquiades Rios having to make a save. Melquiades Rios showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliseo Sustrai in the 33rd minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Albano Cloyo during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 33rd match minute, Orosmayo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albano Cloyo to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Legionarios Fc's Eliseo Sustrai slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Melquiades Rios. That made the score 1-0 after 34 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliseo Sustrai in the 41st minute of play forced Orosmayo's goalkeeper Melquiades Rios to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ramon Ixaka was shown his second yellow card after 41 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Ramon Ixaka kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. In the 45th minute of the match Legionarios Fc got a corner. Orosmayo's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ariel Poz ran over to the corner to take the kick.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Everardo Aznaro was the one to do the kick off. The audience was convinced that Atilano Stanislao's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Melquiades Rios was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. If Eliseo Sustrai had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ildefonso Luix recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ladislao Beltran kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. In the 64th minute Legionarios Fc were awarded a corner. Ariel Poz went to the cornerflag to take it. When Ildefonso Luix came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Legionarios Fc fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ildefonso Luix couldn't finish the play. Everardo Aznaro might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Omar Enaut. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Everardo Aznaro ran back to his position shaking his head. Eliseo Sustrai recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ladislao Beltran charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ladislao Beltran the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ladislao Beltran kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Orosmayo's zone, Eliseo Sustrai stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Melquiades Rios came out of the goal and Eliseo Sustrai tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Melquiades Rios made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliseo Sustrai in the 90th minute of play. Orosmayo were furious when Victorio Chuse was red carded, 94 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee gave Legionarios Fc a penalty, 96 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ariel Poz, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Orosmayo's Melquiades Rios. 2-0.
