But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luisito Indar couldn't finish the play. Fidel Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eriberto Otoniel having to interfere. 11 minutes into the match, Los Andes Whitby FC's goal looked a bit too open when Emanuel Jaunti came free, but Eriberto Otoniel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Jogo Bonito FC's zone, Eduardo Bernal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Florentino Escobar came out of the goal and Eduardo Bernal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luisito Indar in the 16th minute of play forced Jogo Bonito FC's goalkeeper Florentino Escobar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 18 played minutes Los Andes Whitby FC got a freekick which was hit by Raul Lohitzun. In the 19th minute of the match Delmiro Karlo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eriberto Otoniel skillfully saved the ball. Fidel Barros could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Eriberto Otoniel made a huge save. Ismael Telesforo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Florentino Escobar read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. In the 33rd minute Emanuel Jaunti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eriberto Otoniel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 37 minutes, Emanuel Jaunti managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jogo Bonito FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emanuel Jaunti was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 81st minute, Luisito Indar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Los Andes Whitby FC's Guaberto Isusko shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 84th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Florentino Escobar but with some difficulty. Ildefonso Orlanda's late challenge caught a Los Andes Whitby FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ildefonso Orlanda helped the player get up and apologised. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Los Andes Whitby FC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
