Hermengildo Chale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Justo Lauren having to interfere. Roberto Ostadar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 8th minute, Boca Juniors's Jonatan Salvino dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. In the 17th minute, one of Boca Juniors:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Boca Juniors. Pastor Perfecto placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! After a rather tough play, Boca Juniors's Antonio Satordi got a free kick in the 20th minute. Hermengildo Chale recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Hermengildo Chale managed to get in a good position for a shot. the shield's supporters rose to their feet, but Hermengildo Chale was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Justo Lauren breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Boca Juniors's Justo Lauren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hermengildo Chale in the 28th minute of play. Guaberto Gomesano charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Guaberto Gomesano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Javier Eduino made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jonatan Salvino in the 33rd minute. In the 34th match minute, the shield was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcial Claude to maneuver through the defense. With an all-out effort, Boca Juniors's Javier Eduino threw himself towards the right post 35 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Roberto Ostadar, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Roberto Ostadar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Javier Eduino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 42nd minute, Marcial Claude hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 44 played minutes the shield got a freekick which was hit by Raimundo Beltran. In the 45th minute, Roberto Ostadar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jonatan Salvino got free with Javier Eduino in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Roberto Ostadar made a kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as the shield's Hermengildo Chale slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Justo Lauren. That made the score 1-1 after 52 minutes of play. A collision led to the shield getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Raimundo Beltran hit a great ball. Roberto Ostadar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Javier Eduino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 59 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Justo Lauren had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hermengildo Cuartio. Jonatan Salvino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hermengildo Cuartio's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 75thth minute, Justo Lauren skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. If Hermengildo Cuartio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Roberto Ostadar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Boca Juniors's supporters rose to their feet, but Roberto Ostadar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. With a little luck, Boca Juniors's Justo Lauren got control of the ball when Hermengildo Cuartio tried to sneak it across the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the the shield players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Boca Juniors.
