The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tiburcio Quinten took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benito Jakobe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tiburcio Quinten showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabio Servando in the 5th minute of the match. A collision led to Nogoyá getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Fabio Servando hit a great ball. In the 25th minute Mario Arnalt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felipe Perico saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 29th minute, Nogoyá's Jonatan Madeo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Tiburcio Quinten. Tiburcio Quinten yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Jonatan Madeo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nestor Henry fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felipe Perico having to interfere. Mario Arnalt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 38th minute, Nestor Henry got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Mario Arnalt managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Astégian's supporters rose to their feet, but Mario Arnalt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Felipe Perico breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mario Arnalt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Nestor Henry managed to get in a good position for a shot.
