The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Arturo Claris made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Sakarias Bratt sent off a good shot on target. After 12 played minutes, Iruya's Bruno Barea shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Anibal Perutxo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Iruya reached it. In the 17th minute, Justino Bazkoare hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Justino Bazkoare made in the 21st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Los Defes de Sarandí's Walery Gorzkiewicz. When Sakarias Bratt got free in front of the goal in the 29th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Arturo Claris was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. After 30 played minutes Iruya got a freekick which was hit by Victor Reno. The crowd rose to their feet as Los Defes de Sarandí's Sakarias Bratt slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Arturo Claris. That made the score 1-1 after 40 minutes of play. After the first half Iruya were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Anibal Perutxo was out of position in the 60 minute of play, and Honorato Fidencio capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Honorato Fidencio really showed his touch with that goal: 1-3. Arturo Claris showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sakarias Bratt, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Sakarias Bratt blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Arturo Claris having to make a save. Sakarias Bratt might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Arturo Claris. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sakarias Bratt ran back to his position shaking his head. Iruya's Arturo Claris played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sakarias Bratt in the 90th minute of play.
