Rosendo Indar started the match with the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bernabe Mede during the 2nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Bernabe Mede kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. 4 minutes into the game, Narciso Corderall cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Anibal Matteo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Atlético Lugano getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Eliseo Torres hit a great ball. When German Germain came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Malvinas Argentinas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that German Germain couldn't finish the play. Anibal Matteo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Neriman Pérez in the 17th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bernabe Mede got free with Damaso Niguel in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Salvador Henry during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Malvinas Argentinas fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 19th minute. Penalty! Eliseo Torres shot the penalty kick right outside the post. The supporters of Atlético Lugano booed when Malvinas Argentinas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felipe Fonda didn't get a good kick on the ball. 29 minutes into the match, Atlético Lugano's Tiburcio Domiku sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Damaso Niguel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Neriman Pérez put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Anibal Matteo. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Neriman Pérez made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Diego Sansone was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Malvinas Argentinas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Atlético Lugano the free kick. Malvinas Argentinas's Damaso Niguel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tiburcio Domiku in the 54th minute of play. German Germain received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Anibal Matteo came out and tried to block the shot, but German Germain slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 56th minute. When German Germain came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Malvinas Argentinas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that German Germain couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers German Germain in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Anibal Matteo saved Atlético Lugano from getting behind. Igor Estebano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 66th minute, Eliseo Torres hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by German Germain in the 67th minute of play forced Atlético Lugano's goalkeeper Anibal Matteo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but German Germain advanced and headed the ball into goal, 0-4 in the 69th minute. German Germain's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Anibal Matteo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. Anibal Matteo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diego Sansone, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Neriman Pérez in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Anibal Matteo saved Atlético Lugano from getting behind. Neriman Pérez's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Anibal Matteo firmly grabbed it by the left post. 79 minutes into the match, Neriman Pérez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Anibal Matteo. Atlético Lugano's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Neriman Pérez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Lucas Sabino managed to get in a good position for a shot. Malvinas Argentinas's supporters rose to their feet, but Lucas Sabino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anibal Matteo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Atlético Lugano booed when Malvinas Argentinas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diego Sansone didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Malvinas Argentinas eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
