The referee ignored Cuervo de Almagrosa FC's protests and gave Jeremias Blanco a yellow card for diving instead. In the 22nd minute, Jeremias Blanco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Tiburcio Domiku had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. In the 32nd minute, Ramon Venceslao hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lisandro Goren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rosendo Indar in the 40th minute of play. Anibal Matteo guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. In the 45th minute, Basilio Celipe ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Anibal Matteo was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eustaquio Abella made a kick off. In the 53rd minute Jeremias Blanco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anibal Matteo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tiburcio Domiku kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 56thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Cuervo de Almagrosa FC's keeper Lisandro Goren was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. Lisandro Goren was a little too slow when Tiburcio Domiku got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 63rd minute. The score was now 2-1. After 68 minutes, Ceferino Ubendu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Atlético Lugano and the Cuervo de Almagrosa FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Atlético Lugano fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 67th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Cuervo de Almagrosa FC a penalty, 69 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Tobias Euloxu, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Atlético Lugano's Anibal Matteo. 3-1. After 72 minutes, Haroldo Ranolfo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cuervo de Almagrosa FC and the Atlético Lugano players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 73 played minutes Cuervo de Almagrosa FC got a freekick which was hit by Haroldo Ranolfo. Rosendo Indar blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lisandro Goren having to make a save. In the 78th minute, Atlético Lugano's Rosendo Indar ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Lisandro Goren. Lisandro Goren yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-2. Rosendo Indar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Jeremias Blanco was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 90 minutes had been played. Rosendo Indar struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Lisandro Goren didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atlético Lugano. After a defensive mix-up in Atlético Lugano's zone, Basilio Celipe stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anibal Matteo came out of the goal and Basilio Celipe tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Atlético Lugano's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
