The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Romulo Teodor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robustiano Acosta having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cleto Polentzi in the 6th minute of play forced Coranzulí FC's goalkeeper Robustiano Acosta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Coranzulí FC getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Feliberto Lizardi hit a great ball. After 17 played minutes, Malaspina's Eduardo Peter shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Robustiano Acosta came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Malaspina reached it. After some careless play in the Malaspina defense, Zacarias Ponc kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Isidro Gelmiro. The Malaspina fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Isidro Gelmiro should have stopped the shot. Zacarias Ponc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isidro Gelmiro having to interfere. Feliberto Lizardi was shown his second yellow card after 26 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 27 played minutes Coranzulí FC got a freekick which was hit by Feliberto Lizardi. Robustiano Acosta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cleto Polentzi in the 29th minute of the match. Robustiano Acosta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lisandro Merexildo in the 30th minute of play. A collision led to Coranzulí FC getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Zacarias Ponc hit a great ball. Coranzulí FC's Robustiano Acosta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lisandro Merexildo in the 41st minute of play. Benigno Nel hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. After 45 played minutes Coranzulí FC got a freekick which was hit by Rosendo Escobar. Robustiano Acosta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lisandro Merexildo, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Robustiano Acosta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cleto Polentzi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 57th minute Cleto Polentzi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robustiano Acosta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lisandro Merexildo took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Robustiano Acosta. Robustiano Acosta dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. With a little luck, Coranzulí FC's Robustiano Acosta got control of the ball when Hector Franco tried to sneak it across the goal line. Robustiano Acosta made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Lisandro Merexildo sent off a good shot on target. In the 70th minute, Romulo Teodor reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Robustiano Acosta. The goal made the score 1-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lisandro Merexildo got free with Robustiano Acosta in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Malaspina booed when Coranzulí FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zacarias Ponc didn't get a good kick on the ball. 86 minutes into the game, Romeo Steven recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Robustiano Acosta. Romeo Steven showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. The referee felt a red card was in order, 89 minutes into the game, when Eustacio Xacintu put in a rough tackle. In the 93rd minute there was a penalty for Malaspina. Eduardo Peter stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Robustiano Acosta. 1-4. Robustiano Acosta was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Cleto Polentzi showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-5 in the 98 minute of play. Malaspina played a much better game than Coranzulí FC and deserved their victory. The Coranzulí FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
