An unexpectedly hard shot by Cornelio Arnau in the 8th minute of play forced La Lavandería de Bernal's goalkeeper Marciano Austin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 28th minute Israel Dubardo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marciano Austin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marciano Austin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elvio Leoiar, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. In the 39th minute, Elvio Leoiar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rene Guerrero recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edelmiro Txordon couldn't finish the play. The tension between the Venado Tuerto F.C and the La Lavandería de Bernal players grew even worse after the yellow card.
