Despite a couple of nice moves Anier Silvanito's wasn't to be fooled and made an easy save when Basilio Richie was beeing forced to shoot. Edelmiro Bitxintxo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Omar Ilixo in the 15th minute of the match. Celedonio Ebardo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Anier Silvanito read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. If Omar Ilixo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 28 minutes into the match, Cafayete FC's goalkeeper Edelmiro Bitxintxo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Narciso Hulberto. Narciso Hulberto who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 33rdth minute tested the skills of Edelmiro Bitxintxo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 34 minutes, Efrain Frasco mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cafayete FC and the VELEZ A MORIR players grew even worse after the yellow card. After some careless play in the VELEZ A MORIR defense, Celedonio Ebardo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Anier Silvanito. The VELEZ A MORIR fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Anier Silvanito should have stopped the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Celedonio Ebardo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th match minute, Cafayete FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Efrain Frasco to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Narciso Hulberto managed to get in a good position for a shot. VELEZ A MORIR's supporters rose to their feet, but Narciso Hulberto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edelmiro Bitxintxo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Narciso Hulberto came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the VELEZ A MORIR fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Narciso Hulberto couldn't finish the play. Mauricio Quinito might have been able to make a better finish in the 62nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Anier Silvanito. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mauricio Quinito ran back to his position shaking his head. Mauricio Quinito received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Anier Silvanito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Celedonio Ebardo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mauricio Quinito recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mauricio Quinito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 90th minute, Mauricio Quinito got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 97 minutes into the match, VELEZ A MORIR's goalkeeper Anier Silvanito had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mauricio Quinito. The VELEZ A MORIR supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Cafayete FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Cafayete FC.
