Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Aristides Raymond to make the kick off. The Magdalena fans' excitement grew in the 54th match minute when Magdalena's Artemio Demario looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind Club Cultural Gerli's goalkeeper Teodosio Gora, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Artemio Demario had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Guillermo Illan struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Teodosio Gora didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Magdalena. Magdalena's Guillermo Illan got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
