Gerardo Iago showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aquilino Urki in the 3rd minute of the match. In the 4th match minute, River Plate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bartolo Rami to maneuver through the defense. After 5 played minutes, Obraje's Jonas Guilabertus shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gerardo Iago came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Obraje reached it. The audience was convinced that Ceferino Haimar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gerardo Iago was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. Silvano Eusko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aristides Oihan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Pablo Santos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Silvano Eusko made a kick off. A collision led to Obraje getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Ceferino Lluciano hit a great ball. In the 57th minute, Filiberto Paublo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 58th minute, Silvano Eusko got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Obraje's Ceferino Haimar got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Ceferino Haimar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Obraje's supporters rose to their feet, but Ceferino Haimar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gerardo Iago breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gerardo Iago made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aquilino Urki in the 70th minute. Aquilino Urki scored 1-2 in the 76th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gerardo Iago, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Aquilino Urkis short, quick shot in the 92ndth minute got Gerardo Iago to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Ceferino Haimar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerardo Iago having to interfere. When Aquilino Urki came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Obraje fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aquilino Urki couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in River Plate's zone, Ceferino Haimar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gerardo Iago came out of the goal and Ceferino Haimar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Obraje played a much better game than River Plate and deserved their victory. The River Plate players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
