In the 88thth minute of the game Jacques Boscher who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Atlético Estudiantes's Artemio Stephen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jacques Boscher in the 89th minute of play forced Atlético Estudiantes's goalkeeper Artemio Stephen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
