In the 13th minute Abel Inautzi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ruperto Pelagius saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tiburcio Precioso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gabriel Mancio's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. Anier Ermengol fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiburcio Precioso having to interfere. After a rather tough play, El Marques's Maximino Gelmiro got a free kick in the 29th minute. In the 31st minute, Abel Inautzi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Anier Ermengol managed to get in a good position for a shot. El Marques's supporters rose to their feet, but Anier Ermengol was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tiburcio Precioso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ivan Maidana in the 40th minute of play forced Saladillo's goalkeeper Tiburcio Precioso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in El Marques's zone, Carlos Fanuco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ruperto Pelagius came out of the goal and Carlos Fanuco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Abel Inautzi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ruperto Pelagius was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. Gabriel Mancio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tiburcio Precioso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabriel Mancio in the 61st minute of play. Ruperto Pelagius showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Fanuco in the 63rd minute of the match. The referee felt a red card was in order, 68 minutes into the game, when Laureano Eguzki put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in Saladillo fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 68th minute. Penalty! After 76 minutes, Alonzo Azibar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Saladillo and the El Marques players grew even worse after the yellow card. Carlos Fanuco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Ruperto Pelagius tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The El Marques supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing El Marques would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
