The crowd rose to their feet as Tiburcio Herrera kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jaime Gartzea. That made the score 1-0 in the 23 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiburcio Herrera in the 32nd minute of play forced Club 9 de julio's goalkeeper Jaime Gartzea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aureliano Abeijon came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Club 9 de julio's Marcos Raebert. But to his dismay, Marcos Raebert quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Marcos Raebert to strike the kick off in the second half. Aureliano Abeijon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcos Raebert in the 54th minute. Marcos Raebert's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aureliano Abeijon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. Marcos Raebert blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aureliano Abeijon having to make a save. Aureliano Abeijon was out of position in the 64 minute of play, and Marcos Raebert capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Marcos Raebert really showed his touch with that goal: 1-3. Adolfo Vasco kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. 77 minutes into the match, Marcos Raebert dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Aureliano Abeijon, 1-4. In the 84th minute, Nicasio Farias got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Aureliano Abeijon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcos Raebert, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Nicasio Farias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Aureliano Abeijon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The ALMAGRO manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Club 9 de julio to win.
