Cuyoj's Camilo Loiola played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fulgencio Abad in the 13th minute of play. Severino Ondino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Camilo Loiola tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Denis Frasquito received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Erasmo Viator came out and tried to block the shot, but Denis Frasquito slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 19th minute. If Fulgencio Abad had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Severino Ondino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Camilo Loiola read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. Natalia Natalia FC's Severino Ondino got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Severino Ondino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Fulgencio Abad's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Camilo Loiola was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. 32 minutes into the game, Andres Fanuco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cuyoj's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Natalia Natalia FC the free kick. After 33 played minutes Cuyoj got a freekick which was hit by Andres Fanuco. Camilo Loiola took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fulgencio Abad, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Severino Ondino managed to get in a good position for a shot. Natalia Natalia FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Severino Ondino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Camilo Loiola breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Severino Ondino to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Fulgencio Abad hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fulgencio Abad got free with Camilo Loiola in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Denis Frasquito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erasmo Viator having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Severino Ondino managed to get in a good position for a shot. After 74 minutes, Jose Pelayo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Natalia Natalia FC and the Cuyoj players grew even worse after the yellow card.
