In the 30th minute Edgard Bingen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Domingos Iaki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 32nd match minute, River Plate ♥ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hugo Endira to maneuver through the defense. If Teobaldo Monte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcos Joachim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Teobaldo Monte in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Domingos Iaki saved River Plate ♥ from getting behind. Teobaldo Monte blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Domingos Iaki having to make a save. Isidro Magdaleno sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Teobaldo Monte to strike the kick off in the second half. Gualeguaychú's Teobaldo Monte got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Baldomero Sabino hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Hugo Endira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind River Plate ♥'s goalkeeper Domingos Iaki, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
