Pastor Normando came out and tried to block the shot, but Ramon Mateo slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 33rd minute. Pastor Normando showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tobias Salvino in the 35th minute of the match. If Haroldo Urre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pastor Normando was out of position in the 47 minute of play, and Tobias Salvino capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Tobias Salvino really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tobias Salvino was the one to do the kick off. Zárate's Francisco Rocendo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucio Mede in the 93rd minute of play. Zárate's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Marcial Vachon 95 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 3-1.
