In the 4th minute, Jacinto Umbruso ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Leonel Lobo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Leonel Lobo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Severo Eate, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Evelio Lia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sergio Quirce read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. Jacinto Umbruso was extremely unlucky when he, in the 15th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 18th minute, Jacinto Umbruso left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Villa San Carlos fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Evelio Lia might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sergio Quirce. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Evelio Lia ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, German Bazkoare managed to get in a good position for a shot. Villa San Carlos's supporters rose to their feet, but German Bazkoare was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leonel Lobo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 37 minutes into the match, Villa San Carlos's goal looked a bit too open when Evelio Lia came free, but Sergio Quirce reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. German Bazkoare sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ermegildo Tiadoro in the 43rd minute of play forced Villa San Carlos's goalkeeper Sergio Quirce to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Evelio Lia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sergio Quirce having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Evelio Lia to make the kick off. 55 minutes into the match, VILLALONGA's goal looked a bit too open when Jacinto Umbruso came free, but Leonel Lobo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 58 played minutes VILLALONGA got a freekick which was hit by Javier Berriotxoa. Leonel Lobo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacinto Umbruso, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. In the 63rd minute German Bazkoare shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonel Lobo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ermegildo Tiadoro in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sergio Quirce saved Villa San Carlos from getting behind. If Evelio Lia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. German Bazkoare sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Through an outstanding action, after 76 minutes, Sergio Quirce successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 81 minutes into the match, Villa San Carlos's goalkeeper Sergio Quirce had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ermegildo Tiadoro. After a rather tough play, Villa San Carlos's Jesus Inocente got a free kick in the 82nd minute. VILLALONGA's Evelio Lia got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Evelio Lia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
