During the 31st minute of the match Cristobal Ciceron completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. Benigno Arce might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Herminio Luzea. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Benigno Arce ran back to his position shaking his head. Herminio Luzea stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fernan Madeo's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. Fernan Madeo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Herminio Luzea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernan Madeo in the 42nd minute of play. Benigno Arce struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Herminio Luzea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Puerta de Hierro. After a rather tough play, Aberdeen FC's Miguel Sayveon got a free kick in the 45th minute. Aberdeen FC's Herminio Luzea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernan Madeo in the 48th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.
