Spectators: 7256 (Terracing: 5443, Seating: 1669, VIP seats: 144) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Herminio Eliu kicked off to start the match. 3 minutes into the match, Palo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Herminio Eliu came free, but Melchor Javiar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tomás Ekain fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Melchor Javiar having to interfere. Palo FC's Melchor Javiar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Herminio Eliu in the 8th minute of play. 11 minutes into the match, Palo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Herminio Eliu came free, but Melchor Javiar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The PENAYOFC fans' excitement grew in the 16th match minute when PENAYOFC's Herminio Eliu looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 22nd minute PENAYOFC were awarded a corner. Jacobo Pedroso went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Jacobo Pedroso almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Palo FC's Melchor Javiar did a great save. If Tomás Ekain had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 25 played minutes Palo FC got a freekick which was hit by Vinicio Xabel. The audience thought a goal was coming when Roberto Indalecio got free with Alfredo Intxixu in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Palo FC's Melchor Javiar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Herminio Eliu in the 41st minute of play. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Palo FC's goalkeeper Melchor Javiar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After the first half PENAYOFC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Simon Roano stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. PENAYOFC's Herminio Eliu got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tomás Ekain recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 62 minutes into the game, Herminio Eliu lined in a short shot 1-3 behind a frustrated Melchor Javiar. PENAYOFC's Herminio Eliu got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 73 minutes into the match, Palo FC's goalkeeper Melchor Javiar had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Herminio Eliu. Tomás Ekain kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. With his leg Melchor Javiar managed to avoid a goal in the 84thth minute, when PENAYOFC's Herminio Eliu fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 85 played minutes Palo FC got a freekick which was hit by Fernando Basajaun. In the 87th minute, Tomás Ekain got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Herminio Eliu in the 90thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Melchor Javiar, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 93 minutes into the game, Herminio Eliu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-5. Melchor Javiar was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. PENAYOFC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
