The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. EL OESTE FC RP's Simon Rosario played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vinicio Eztebe in the 9th minute of play. A collision led to EL OESTE FC RP getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Genaro Vito hit a great ball. If Vinicio Eztebe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Zeledon Ereinotz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cecilio Martinez in the 14th minute of play. If Jimeno Gabrio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Higinio Rojelio fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored EL OESTE FC RP's protests and gave Higinio Rojelio a yellow card for diving instead. Higinio Rojelio hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Simon Rosario took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vinicio Eztebe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Cecilio Martinez made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, EL OESTE FC RP's Reynaldo Lando got a free kick in the 57th minute. After 62 played minutes López got a freekick which was hit by Mario Eskuin. Zeledon Ereinotz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reynaldo Lando, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Cecilio Martinez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zeledon Ereinotz was relentless in the 65th minute of the game.
