In the 6th minute the ball was on its way in behind Independiente's goalkeeper Justo Tibalt, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ignacio Estebe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Justo Tibalt having to interfere. In the 13th minute Eustaquio Batista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Justo Tibalt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Justo Tibalt stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ignacio Estebe's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. Ignacio Estebe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Justo Tibalt having to interfere. 21 minutes into the match, Concepción's goalkeeper Fulgencio Oihenarte had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lázaro Haitz. In the 22nd minute, Lázaro Haitz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fulgencio Oihenarte made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Elvio Oskarbi sent off a good shot on target. When Paulino Sugar fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Concepción's protests and gave Paulino Sugar a yellow card for diving instead. Eustaquio Batista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Justo Tibalt having to interfere. Justo Tibalt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eustaquio Batista in the 34th minute of play. After 34 played minutes Independiente got a freekick which was hit by Elvio Oskarbi. Justo Tibalt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eustaquio Batista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ignacio Estebe in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Justo Tibalt prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 39th minute Ignacio Estebe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Justo Tibalt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eustaquio Batista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Justo Tibalt having to interfere. Eustaquio Batista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Justo Tibalt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ignacio Estebe to strike the kick off in the second half. Eustaquio Batista did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-1 to the left of a surprised Justo Tibalt 52 minutes into the match. Eustaquio Batista who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 64thth minute tested the skills of Justo Tibalt when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Eustaquio Batista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Justo Tibalt having to interfere. Justo Tibalt was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Eustaquio Batista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 79 minutes, Lázaro Haitz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Independiente's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lázaro Haitz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 82 minutes into the match, Independiente's goalkeeper Justo Tibalt had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eustaquio Batista. In the 92nd minute, Ignacio Estebe got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 94 minutes into the match, Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Ignacio Estebe came free, but Justo Tibalt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Justo Tibalt made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Eustaquio Batista sent off a good shot on target. When the match was over Concepción could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Independiente throughout the match.
