The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Higinio Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Boca Kids's supporters rose to their feet, but Higinio Santos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Samuel Txeru breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Samuel Txeru made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Isaac Azibar sent off a good shot on target. 15 minutes into the match, Boca Kids's goal looked a bit too open when Humberto Tallia came free, but Osvaldo Marcones reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Isaac Azibar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind Boca Kids's goalkeeper Osvaldo Marcones, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Higinio Santos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuel Txeru having to interfere. When Mauricio Weterio fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PEÑAROL DE MAR DEL PLATA's protests and gave Mauricio Weterio a yellow card for diving instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Humberto Tallia in the 49th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Osvaldo Marcones saved Boca Kids from getting behind. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Celestino Milio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuel Txeru having to interfere. If Higinio Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Humberto Tallia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 88 minutes into the match, Boca Kids's goal looked a bit too open when Paulo Gonzo came free, but Osvaldo Marcones reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. PEÑAROL DE MAR DEL PLATA's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
